State Senate incumbent Michelle Hinchey spoke, as Congressional candidates Josh Riley and Jamie Cheney waited their turn at Sunday’s “Meet the Candidates” event at Crellin.

CANDIDATES ARE OUT AND ABOUT!

A Meet the Candidates event at Crellin Park on Sunday June 12 saw a crowd of over 80 people.

Speakers included incumbent State Senator Michelle Hinchey, incumbent NYS Assembly Member Didi Barrett, and two candidates for the Congressional District NY-19 primary election, Jamie Cheney and Josh Riley. Pat Ryan, who is running to complete the remainder of Antonio Delgado’s CD-19 term through December 2022, was unable to attend, and was represented by CCDC Chair Sam Hodge.

Each candidate spoke for about five minutes and then responded to general questions from the audience.

JUNE 28 election

  • In Chatham, the Primary Election for Democratic candidates for Governor and Lieutenant Governor will take place on Tuesday June 28. The sample ballot is HERE. Early voting available for these elections takes place from June 18 to June 26.

AUGUST 23 elections include:

  • A Special Election to fill the position of Congress Member for NY-19 (vacated by Antonio Delgado) for the remainder of 2022 will take place on August 23, when Democrat Pat Ryan will face off against Republican Mark Molinaro.

  • The Primary Election for Democratic candidates for U.S. Congress – NY-19--(current candidates are Jamie Cheney and. Josh Riley) for the upcoming term (2023 -2024) will also occur on August 23.

Early voting for these offices will take place August 13 through August 21.

PLEASE NOTE:

  • Democratic incumbent NYS Assembly Member Didi Barrett has no primary opponent, and will go on to face the winner of the 6/28/22 Republican primary in November.

  • Democrat incumbent State Senator (NYS SD-106) Michelle Hinchey has no primary opponent for NYS State Senate and will go on to run in November against designated opponents from other parties.
