Dems hold Halloween candy drive

Chatham Dems are asking for donations of bags of individually wrapped Halloween candies for distribution to residents of Kinderhook Street in the Village of Chatham, site of an annual Halloween trick or treat event that strains the budgets of some residents.

Donations of candy can be dropped off in the container on the front porch of 100 Kinderhook Street, between Oct 20 and Oct 29.

A long time tradition, this Halloween candy donation and distribution project was devised to recognize and support residents of Kinderhook Street, who are annually inundated with trick or treaters from surrounding areas.

Kinderhook Street residents will receive instructions on how to collect candy on Sunday, 10/30, if they want to participate in the giveaway.

We thank all contributors and residents for participating in this program for the youth of the area.
