Over 100 people attended the Columbia County Get-Out-the-Vote Strategy Meeting held on October 17th at the Chatham Brewing They heard brief remarks by the Democrats running for District Attorney and County Judge.
DA candidate Chris Liberati-Conant spoke to the culture change we can anticipate in the Columbia County Justice System by his prevailing in this election. Brian Herman spoke to the importance of engaging with the voters. Mike Howard emphasized that participation is the way for democracy to flourish in Columbia County.
There is an estimated 25% greater chance that people will go to the polls if personally contacted. EVERY VOTE COUNTS!
A county coordinator reported enrollment numbers for Columbia County: 18,044 Democrats, 12,002 Republicans and 11,666 not registered in any party (NOPs). She said Dems’ work is to get all Democrats to the polls and give the NOP’s good reason to support the qualified Democratic candidates.
Forms were distributed listing canvassing activities and phone-banking opportunities.
