Recreation

The Town of Chatham has varied opportunities for recreation for citizens of all ages. The Chatham Democrats value these resources and know that they enhance our quality of life. The environmental quality found in the Town of Chatham allows for a variety of recreational activities, including hiking, running, fishing, swimming, hunting, horseback riding, biking, stargazing, birdwatching, gardening, and boating. The programs and facilities at Crellin Town Park, particularly, are vital to our town as they offer opportunities for children to learn to swim, participate in summer camp programs, work in the Children’s Garden, and play soccer, t-ball, softball, baseball and basketball. This facility offers teens a place to skateboard, practice with their sports teams, and gain experience through employment in the summer swimming and camp programs. Community members of all ages benefit from the tennis and pickle ball courts, the Community Garden, the walking trails and the availability of the pavilions to host events. We are proud to support Crellin Park and encourage the town government to improve and maintain it as a vital component of life in the Town of Chatham.
