Chatham Public Library: Friends Author & Artist Talk with Writer and Historian Hugh Howard

Join the Friends of the Chatham Public Library, June 4th at 2pm for a talk with writer and historian Hugh Howard about his new book, Architects of an American Landscape. A dual portrait of Henry Hobson Richardson, the nation's first world-renowned architect, and Frederick Law Olmsted, our finest landscape designer, the book, according to the Wall Street Journal, is “the literary equivalent of an Olmstedian greensward.”

Howard is the author of numerous books on architecture and design, including "Architecture’s Odd Couple", "Dr. Kimball and Mr. Jefferson", "Thomas Jefferson: Architect, Houses of the Founding Fathers", and a memoir, "House-Dreams". He lives in New Hampshire.

This program is presented as part of the Friends of the Chatham Public Library’s ongoing Author and Artist Series. Books will be for sale at the event in partnership with the Chatham Bookstore. For more information about this lecture series and other library programs, please visit chathampubliclibrary.org.

This program will be held in person at the Chatham Middle School Library, directly next door to the Public Library (11 Woodbridge Ave, Chatham, NY). Registration is requested but not required at bit.ly/CPL_060422
