What now? Angus’s ideas

Newly elected Town Board member Angus Eaton shares his ideas for what the board ought to work on.

By Angus Eaton

First and foremost, I hope to establish trust and productive working relationships with the supervisor, other board members, committee members, town staff, and residents.

From that foundation, I want to work toward these important objectives:

  • We should raise the stature of the Climate Smart Committee to include a budget and allow the committee to have its own website attached to the town website, at least until the town website is updated.

  • We should pass a solar law that allows for solar installations on home and commercial properties as well as moderate community solar developments.

  • We should be supportive of the housing committee so that average residents can afford to live in Chatham.

  • We should update zoning laws to be in keeping with modern practices.
