What now? Angus’s ideas
Newly elected Town Board member Angus Eaton shares his ideas for what the board ought to work on.
By Angus Eaton
First and foremost, I hope to establish trust and productive working relationships with the supervisor, other board members, committee members, town staff, and residents.
From that foundation, I want to work toward these important objectives:
We should raise the stature of the Climate Smart Committee to include a budget and allow the committee to have its own website attached to the town website, at least until the town website is updated.
We should pass a solar law that allows for solar installations on home and commercial properties as well as moderate community solar developments.
We should be supportive of the housing committee so that average residents can afford to live in Chatham.
We should update zoning laws to be in keeping with modern practices.
