Town Board: “Be there”

As the saying goes, “Be there, or be square.”

Or in the case of Chatham Town Board, “Be there, or be always confused by what the board is doing.”

All Town Board meetings are open to the public. We are invited to make public comment at least twice during the meetings. Comments aren’t votes, of course, but comments do matter.

So does your being informed.

The board has its regular monthly meeting on the third Thursday of the month – the next being April 21 – at 6:30 p.m. For now, meetings are online via Google Meet. Go to the town website -- https://www.chathamnewyork.us/ -- click on Calendar and follow the meeting link.

The board also meets on the first Thursday, at 6:30 p.m., for a “workshop meeting.”

The agendas for these meetings eventually appear on the website, but rarely in time for interested residents to be prepared.

The Chatham Dems newsletter prepares a report on these meetings. But there is no substitute for your being there yourself.
