Chatham Dems return to Zoom for now

It was back to Zoom for Monday’s monthly meeting after some members came down with Covid.

Betsy Winters said the Oct 16 highway cleanup will start at noon, this time at the northern edge of our assigned area. Drive to Crellin, and you will be driven to the work site. Crews will work both sides of Route 66 and end up at Crellin for birthday cake around 3 p.m.

Bart Thibadeau was named chair of the nominating committee for the 2023 Town Board election.

Joanne DelRossi reported on a plan being developed by Ghent Democrats and Chatham Dems to sponsor a joint pre-election event on Saturday Oct 29 at Love Apple Farm, in Ghent.

Three leading candidates will attend the Ghent-Chatham event: Josh Riley (US Congress), Michelle Hinchey (NY State Senate), and Didi Barrett (NY State Assembly), plus three Democratic candidates for the NY State Supreme Court.

Dems approved proceeding with the event.

Next meeting of Chatham Dems will be Monday Oct 10, at 6 p.m., again on Zoom because of Covid concerns.
