Recommended candidates for town offices

After six months of recruiting, evaluating and interviewing prospective candidates for town office, the Chatham Dems Nominating Committee selected three long-time town leaders as their recommended candidates:

Chris Spencer, for Town Supervisor

Angus Eaton, for Town Board

John Wapner, for Town Board

CHRIS SPENCER

  • Architect

  • Member of the Chatham School Board

  • Member of Chatham Planning Board

  • Member of Chatham Zoning Board of Appeals

  • Member of Friends of the Tracy

  • Architect: owner of CWS Architecture Inc., a full-service firm specializing in sustainable design

ANGUS EATON

  • Engineer and former subsistence farmer

  • Chatham Climate Smart Committee

  • Chatham Comprehensive Plan Update Committee

  • Chatham Planning Board (deputy chair)

  • Retired from position of Director, New York State Department of Environmental Conservation, Water Resources Bureau of Water Resource Management

JOHN WAPNER

  • Former Chatham Town Board member

  • Former School Board member, 9 years as chair

  • Town Communications Committee

  • Board member, Chatham Dirt Road Coalition, an Chatham Area Recreation Project

  • Psychologist

  • Specializing in workplace consultations

  • Private practice counseling adults
