Comp Plan passed on to Town Board

The Comprehensive Plan Update Review Committee completed its work on October 7, with a public hearing and a decision to transmit the plan to Town Board for its consideration.

If the Board approves work done so far, it will authorize the next step: writing new zoning regulations to match changes made in this edition of the comprehensive plan.

About 30 residents attended the public hearing, convened by outside consultant Michael Allen and held at North Chatham Fire Department. No one topic dominated the discussion.

Participants thanked Board member Abi Mesick for her work as head of the review committee.

State law requires each municipality to have a Comprehensive Plan guiding its zoning and operating decisions. Plans are updated every now and then.
