CHATHAM STANDS WITH UKRAINE

On the one-year anniversary of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, a crowd of nearly 60 people gathered in bitterly cold temperatures at the Chatham Village Green for a vigil commemorating the occasion.

Bedecked in blue and yellow ribbons and flags and holding posters and signs declaring their support for Ukraine, the colorful crowd included representatives from Ukraine Solidarity-Albany and Rivers and Mountains GreenFaith, which organized the event, and other local activist organizations, as well as the Chatham Dems, the Columbia County Democratic Committee, and the Claverack Democratic Party Committee.

The crowd was enthusiastically greeted by the drivers of passing cars, who honked and waved their support and encouragement.
