Chatham Dems hold first hybrid meeting!

Town Board members Destiny Hallenbeck and Rick Werwaiss reported on their first four months in office.

On Monday, May 2, we had our first hybrid meeting—in person and on Zoom. Most met under the pavilion at Crellin Park. One dialed in on Zoom. It turned out pretty well for our first foray into hybrid meetings.

A highlight of the meeting was a presentation by Democratic Town Council members Destiny Hallenbeck and Rick Werwaiss, sharing their impressions of board duty so far, current and ongoing board work, and their plans and hopes for the future. They began serving Jan 1.

Betsy Winters-Russell reported that the Chatham Dems Adopt-A-Highway cleanup on April 22 went well. A team of 10 cleaned up our entire assigned portion of Route 66 in one morning!

Upcoming events will focus on fundraising and in-person reconnection:
· Chili Fest in September
· Adopt-A-Highway fall cleanup of our portion of Route 66
· Q & A with Assemblywoman Didi Barrett (District 106, assuming the current redistricting of the Assembly districts). Per that plan, Barrett has been newly assigned to a large section of the Town of Chatham.
