Board okays RFP on highway garage project

Building on fact-finding work led by Gabriella Sperry, the Town Board approved taking the next step in expanding and renovating the town’s highway garage.

They approved issuing a request for proposal for engineering, design and/or architectural services to address insufficient space, issues with utilities, and other needs as they are identified.

The fact-finding committee had found that the garage didn’t have sufficient space for employees and managerial staff, space for larger new equipment, and adequate utilities.

Chatham Area Recreation Project proposed to renovate and expand the fitness trail in Crellin Park.

The new trail would be fully accessible for persons with disabilities, and would buttress cardio and strength training.

CARP would pay for the entire project.
